| Calcaneal spur | | A calcaneal spur is a bony projection from the calcaneum (the heel bone). | | Symptoms | - Pain in heel on stepping on the floor.
- Usually the pain is more while putting the foot on the floor on waking in the morning.
- The heel pain is worse on walking for long.
- Swelling may sometimes accompany pain
| | Do's and Don'ts | - Use soft, padded footwear or shoes.
- Do not walk for long distances or exert too much
- Avoid wearing high heeled shoes.
- Sponge padding can be slipped into the footwear to provide temporary relief of pain
